Ixana Unveils Worlds First Wi-R Silicon Chip

GlobeNewswire press release announces Ixana unveiling the worlds first Wi-R silicon chip enabling seamless touch-based communication across wearables. The production-ready chip brings electro-quasistatic body-area networking to commercial availability.

Wi-R chip enables user-initiated touch-to-connect with fast setup between AR glasses, sensors, smartphones and compute devices. Signals confined to body surface deliver megabit speeds with physical-layer security and 100x lower power than traditional wireless.

Following years of development from Purdue research, Ixana achieves volume-production Wi-R silicon supporting up to 20 Mb/s data rates at sub-nJ/bit efficiency. The chip enables all-day wearable operation with distributed processing across lightweight devices.
