Ixana Raises $3M Seed Funding for All-Day Wearable AR
Auganix reports Ixana secured $3M seed funding to accelerate Wi-R wireless technology development, enabling lightweight, all-day wearable AR glasses through ultra-low-power body-area networking.

Ixana secured $3 million in seed funding to accelerate development of its Wi-R wireless technology, enabling lightweight, all-day wearable AR glasses and accessories. The investment supports scaling production of chips and modules that deliver high-speed, ultra-low-power body-area networking for AR ecosystems.
Solving AR's power and weight challenges
Traditional wireless standards drain batteries and add bulk to AR headsets, limiting wear time to hours rather than full days. Wi-R's electro-quasistatic communication uses 100x less energy than Bluetooth/Wi-Fi while maintaining megabit data rates, allowing slimmer designs without sacrificing performance.
Key investors and strategic focus
The round included participation from strategic investors focused on spatial computing and wearables infrastructure. Funds will expand Ixana's Wi-R silicon roadmap and partner ecosystem for AR device makers seeking differentiation through extended battery life and seamless multi-device connectivity.
Path to all-day AR wearables
With prototypes demonstrating 20 Mb/s data rates at sub-nJ/bit efficiency, Ixana positions Wi-R as essential infrastructure for next-generation AR. The technology enables hub-and-spoke networks where glasses, sensors and compute connect effortlessly across the body, reducing cables and improving user experience for enterprise and consumer applications.
